Raised in Chicago in the Pilsen/Little Village neighborhood, Jaqueline grew up with public art on commercial and residential buildings, businesses, alley ways, and gardens. This artistically rich culture has influenced and has rooted her work to having a deeper meaning. Making design with purpose makes the process of creating a fruitful experience. Merging graphic design, the arts, theology, and the Hispanic culture has been a privilege for Jaqueline. Constantly discovering ways to use traditional techniques of crafting and learned design skills, motivates Jaqueline to continue creating. You will see that in my work, merging the traditional with the modern is an opportunity for creative fusion. Jaqueline is currently a student and St. Oscar Romero Scholar at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Jaqueline has recently started her ministry as Campus Minister at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in the Chicago Pilsen neighborhood she grew up in. When given the opportunity, Jaqueline presents her artwork The Passion of the Monarca Migrante at conferences, meetings, retreats, and panels.
